At eight years old, Laura Boardman wandered the pebbled beaches of Battle Island on Lake Superior and discovered its colourful,agates. Growing up in 'Amethyst Country' near Thunder Bay, ON she often visited amethyst mine sites and collected her own specimens.

Laura was introduced to lapidary work by her uncle while in high school and has been developing her artistry and skills with nature's stones ever since. She designs a variety of giftware and jewellery from amethyst that is cut and tumbled to a high polish.
