Alison Kendall
Alison Kendall is a multimedia artist who lives and works in Thunder Bay. Along with early studies in watercolour, she pursued an HBFA from Lakehead University. She completed her education with a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of British Columbia.
Trained formally as a painter, the artist has expanded her interests and skills to areas involving fibre, printmaking, drawing, bookbinding and beadwork. Currently, she is experimenting with unique prints made from hand dyed papers, and completing a beadweaving and soft sculpturesolo exhibition of work relating to the body.
Continuously influenced by the landscape of Northwestern Ontario, Alison weaves her understanding of "place" with an interest in Eastern philosophy, searching to focus on contemplative imagery. Presently, she teaches a variety of studio and academic courses in the Visual Arts Department at Lakehead University.
